New generation high-boiling point film-forming aid
Low odor, high efficiency
High-boiling point environmentally friendly film-forming aid, compliant with French A+ standard
When it comes to indoor pollution, people are always afraid of "aldehydes" (formaldehyde mainly comes from indoor decoration materials, artificial boards, and adhesives), but they ignore another equally terrible and common health killer— VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds).
Sources and Hazards of VOCs
Various materials used in home decoration are one of the main sources of indoor VOCs. When the VOCs in a room reach a certain concentration people will feel headache, nausea, fatigue, etc. in a short time. In severe cases, they will experience vomiting, convulsions, coma, etc., and will damage the liver, kidneys, brain, and nervous system, resulting in serious consequences such as memory loss.
Therefore, various countries have restricted the VOC content in coatings and other decoration and renovation materials. Among them, France's restrictive standards are the most stringent.
French VOC Label
The French VOC label is an environmental protection label that is mandatory for indoor building materials to enter the French market. It is based on the technical regulations of ISO-16000 indoor air international standards, simulates the actual indoor living environment of people, and uses professional precision instruments to continuously monitor the air quality in the space after brushing for 28 days. Based on the concentration of total volatile organic compounds in the air and the concentration of ten other common organic compounds harmful to human body, the product is rated.
The highest environmental protection level of the French VOC label is A+, followed by A, B, and C.
French A+ Standard
The main difference between the French A+ and the Chinese national standard is the subject of testing that is, National Standard is testing the VOC of the coating French A+ , tests the TVOC of the air after the coating is applied testing the VOC of the coating and the concentration of ten common harmful volatile organic compounds . The VOC concentration of the coating cannot be directly used to judge whether the coating is harmful to human body after brushing. However, the concentration of volatile organic compounds in the air measured according to ISO 16000 can be directly used to judge whether it is harmful to human body.
For coating raw materials that meet the French A+ standard, a film-forming aid RHODOLINE CL3101 is specially introduced.
What is a film-forming aid?
Can reduce the minimum film formation temperature of emulsion polymers, so that the polymers can form a continuous coating at a suitable temperature. Substances that can do this are called film-forming aids.
The latest generation of high-boiling point film-forming aid - RHODOLINE CL3101 technical data
- |
RHODOLINE CL3101 |
Boiling point(℃) | 293 |
Purity(wt%) | ≥99.0 |
Color(APHA) | ≤25 |
Specific gravity ℃ | 0.954 |
Water content(wt%) | ≤0.2 |
RHODOLINE CL3101 boiling point is higher than 286℃
Many laws and regulations now use ISO16000-6 and ISO16000-9 to calculate the VOC content of products, that is, the peak time less than hexadecane is determined by gas chromatography (boiling point is 286 degrees), which is determined as VOC. The peak of RHODOLINE CL 3101 is located after hexadecane, and the boiling point is higher than 286 degrees, so it is non-VOC.
Comparison of RHODOLINE CL3101 and standard sample 2
RHODOLINE CL3101 because of its high boiling point 、 lower odor 、 higher efficiency in reducing MFFT 、 better scrub resistance and other characteristics, it is gradually becoming the optimal choice for green and environmentally friendly coating film-forming aids.
